The Problem.

During my internship at Design Directive Inc. I worked on several design projects in a big variety of product categories. One of the products is the BarsitySports Beer Badge. It’s a beer opener with some extra features and an outstanding design. The goal was to create an allround gadget in addition to the season related gardening product Design Directive has. The material, dimensions and design were undefined and I was given the opportunity to come up with a pretty design that people would like and buy the moment they see it.

The Result.

After spending some spare hours at work brainstorming, drawing and searching, I took the design process to the next level with Adobe Illustrator. The design was worked out and optimized for the actual molded products. The dept of the design had to be specified and some details had to be left away in order to keep the design realizable. The tooling of the mold has been financed by a successful Kickstarter campaign which ended well over 200% of the set goal. So far my first realized design project, which was quite a lot of fun too.
